Colbie Marie Caillat is a California born (1985) pop singer-songwriter and guitarist. Ken Caillat, her father, co-produced Fleetwood Mac's “Rumours” and “Tusk albums.” The popularity of Caillat's MySpace profile led her to become the number-one unsigned singer in her genre for four months.

Her popularity on the social network was partially due to her song "Bubbly," and the songs on her profile have been played more than thirty-one million times. Her debut album, “Coco,” was released in July 2007. According to her MySpace profile, Caillat was first inspired to start singing at age eleven when she first heard the Fugees' 1996 version of the song "Killing Me Softly,” made famous by Roberta Flack in 1973.

Her MySpace profile also states that, though trained at piano from an early age, Caillat did not begin playing guitar until age nineteen. Caillat performed a duet with Jason Mraz called "Lucky" on his new studio album, “We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things,” which was released on May 13, 2008.
