Born Jay Jenkins October 12, 1977 this South Carolina native originally planned on having a background role in the music industry as a businessman, not as a rapper. Young Jeezy years before making his first Def Jam album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, released in July 2005 he founded Corporate Thugz Entertainment and promoted Cash Money releases. From there, he branched out as a label boss and an artist, releasing albums and mix tapes. Come Shop Wit' Me, his independently distributed debut from 2003, sold more than 50,000 copies. As a member of Boyz N da Hood, he was behind a self entitled album released just a few weeks before Let's Get It that debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard album chart. Many thought that there was a family relation between Jeezy and Joc which was false. They are alike in the own right due to their slow, southern flow, and are also good friends in the music business. After Hurricane Katrina, Young Jeezy opened his house to the victims in an effort to help individuals have a place to stay due to the great destruction Katrina left behind.
